The quiet Hamlet of Nordegg,
founded in 1914, was once a bustling community of over 3500 and home to one of the largest Coal Mines in Canada. In ’55, when diesel became king, the town was all but abandoned, with the majority of the original site removed. Today, in an ever crowding world, Nordegg has become a sanctuary for those seeking to escape the Daily Hustle.
The Town
With a growing number of quality amenities, a handful of local attractions, and a healthy culture of Arts & Crafts, there’s plenty to keep you going… when you’re not out exploring!
Eats
All our Cabins come with a fully equipped Kitchen & BBQ, as well as a Grill for your firepit upon request at the Firesides. If you prefer to keep it easy, there are some fine choices to grab a bite in Town. Check out the Miners Cafe and the Pick & Shovel!
Arts & Crafts
In addition to our little Craft Shack, discover the growing community of wonderful Artists, Crafters, Shops & Studios.

Lakes, flows & Falls
An endless drip of glacial and spring waters feed the maze of Lakes, Creeks, and Rivers that flow through the Valleys of the Bighorn. This combination makes up the North Saskatchewan Watershed, and in this fresh water wonder, responsible Fishing, Swimming and Paddling are easy to find within minutes of Town.
